"I'M NOT PLAYING MUSIC, I'M JUST PART OF IT"
A fierced independance is what should probably defines with the most accuracy Domenico Solazzo's work and state of mind since day one.
As a shadow actor, after many years experimenting the act of being in music through the wild improvisations of UNPLEASANT NATURE, he released his first solo album, "CaRPiGSTRoKe" in september 2003. Though it was an amateurish production, the album received good reviews and did sell from Europe to Argentina !
Since then and until 2012, Domenico kept going his musical activities with a great sense of diversity :
* as a solo artist, he released no less than nine albums, ranging from minimal pop to experimental noise, culminating in 2009 with the acclaimed "Deadend".
* as a drummer, he played in various other bands : from alternative rock (DeafDialogue, Habemus Papam), psychedelic rock (Fungus Imperator), pop (Landing Grace) to jazz (Unity).
* as a producer and special collaborator, he took part in many various projects : producing Rhinestone Live's folk rock first two albums, collaborating on an experimental split cd with Ximeng, remixing for Code314, and working with Frank Balestracci (signed under Carbon7), Bill Brovold (signed on Knitting Factory and Cuneiform Records) and Percy Howard (Bill Laswell protegee)
* last but not least, starting april 2007 he launched the all improvised electric jazz PaNoPTiCoN collective, which quickly encountered a worldwide recognition. For the following five years, Domenico embarked on an intensive touring with this live only laboratory and its everchanging line up, releasing a bunch of 50 live recordings !
In 2012, Domenico stopped all his artistic activities for health reasons.
He signed an unexpected return in 2019 with "Kino", his last solo album since "Deadend" ten years before ...
